Cafe Budapest opens.

Operated by Hungarian immigrant Edith Ban and her mother, it is located initially on Brookline Avenue. The restaurant moves to the basement of the Copley Square Hotel in 1964. After Ban’s death, it is operated by her sister Hedda. It closes on October 14, 2000.
